6 Ways to Promote
Your Information Product
Once you have created your product you must promote your product. The key to success is getting as many sales as possible.The first step towards that is setting up a sales letter to tell people about the product and how they can get hold of it. We cover that in a separate section.
When you have done that, you need to go out and tell the world about your product. Here are some of the key ways you can promote your site.
1. Search engine optimization: If you want to make sales, the best people to find are those who are already searching for information about your type of product. This means they need to be able to find your site if they key in relevant 'keywords' to Internet search engines such as Google and yahoo. So one of the things you can do first is submit your site to these engines. It's usually just a matter of visiting the sites for the main search engines such as:

Just follow the directions, and your site is now listed in the search engines.Ideally that means people would immediately be taken to your site when they are interested in your topic but, of course, there is often much competition for popular topics and you may have to do some work on your site to boost its ranking. 3. Links from other sites: Links that point to your web site from other sites, especially those with high page rankings, will help to bring even more people to view your sales page. This is a good source of direct traffic as well as being helpful with your ranking in the search engines. Getting other people to link to your site will help attract more traffic.
4. Published articles: An easy way to boost the visibility of your web site is to write articles related to the subject of your product and submit them to one of the many article websites. One of the most popular is ezinearticles.com.
Web site owners and ezine editors come to these article sites to find articles they can use free in their own sites and publications. A link to your site is included in a box at the bottom of the article, so this gets you more visits that will hopefully turn into sales.
5. Pay-per-click advertising: Advertising such as Google Adwords is a popular way to attract fast traffic. These are the 'Sponsored Links' that you see at the top and along the right side of a search results page on Google’s main site, and also on partner sites.
People will see your ad when they have used a search term that is one of the keywords or phrases that you have bid on to use in your advertising.
You can choose how much you want to spend each day in fees at the time you are setting up your campaign. Generally, the more money you are willing to spend each day, the more your ads will be shown. Pay-per-click advertising can be great but it can be expensive if it is not producing results. You don’t want to keep paying for click-throughs if you are not getting any sales from them! Track them carefully.
6. Forums: Online forums are websites where people get together and discuss topics of common interest. If you can find forums related to the subject of your product, you can visit these forums and make contacts. You cannot usually promote your products in the content but normally you may place a link to your web site in the signature line below your comment.
7. Social marketing: One of the fastest growing methods of attracting traffic to your website is through online networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace or social bookmarking sites such as Digg and StumbleUpon. As with forums, you need to take care not to promote your site in places where this is not welcome but they can be a useful way of building contacts and traffic.
